I think the best route for Saturday would be starting at the Meadowbrook trailhead rather than the one near the old fire station. The parking situation is much better there and the initial climb is more gradual which helps everyone get warmed up. We should plan to meet around 7:15 AM if we want to reach the summit before noon. The weather forecast shows partly cloudy with temps in the mid-60s so layering would be smart. I would suggest bringing at least two liters of water per person and some snacks for the midway point. The loop trail is about 8 miles total so it should take us roughly 4-5 hours with breaks. Let me know if anyone has trouble with that distance because we could modify the route to cut off a couple miles by taking the connector trail instead. I will bring the trail map and compass just in case the phone reception is spotty up there. Also do not forget to wear sturdy shoes since parts of the trail can be rocky especially after the recent rain we had. I will send out a reminder Friday evening with the final details so everyone knows where we are meeting.

I looked at everyones availability and it seems like Thursday evenings work best for most of the group. The second Thursday of each month around 7 PM would be ideal based on the responses we got. For our first meeting I was thinking we could discuss the first three chapters to see if the writing style resonates with everyone before committing to the full book. The novel has quite a few characters introduced early on so having a shared reading pace would help us avoid spoilers for those who read slower. We should rotate hosting duties each month to keep things fair and give everyone a chance to pick the location. I can host the first one at my place. Coffee and tea will be provided and people are welcome to bring snacks if they want. Please RSVP by the end of the week so I can set up enough seating. Also if anyone has dietary restrictions please let me know so I can have appropriate options available. Looking forward to seeing everyone there and hearing what you think about the book selection for this season.
