I totally agree with you about the hiking trails up north. We went there last fall and the colors were incredible. I'd recommend starting early to beat the crowds and bring plenty of water. The loop around the lake is about 6 miles but it's mostly flat so it's not too tough. We packed sandwiches and ate at the summit which had a great breeze. Let me know if you want a more challenging route because there is one that goes up the ridge instead. I think you'll really enjoy it either way. Just make sure you have good boots because some parts are rocky. We are planning to go again in a few weeks hopefully the weather holds up. I can send you the map we used if you want to check it out beforehand. There's a parking lot at the base that fills up fast so aiming for early morning is definitely smart.

Oh yeah the new board game cafe is really fun. We stopped by last Saturday and ended up staying for almost four hours. They have a huge library of games from classic stuff to newer indie titles. I tried a game about building a space station which was super complicated but the owner came over and explained the rules. The coffee was pretty good too which is always a plus. It's a really cozy spot with big tables and soft lighting so you can actually see what you're doing. We are planning to go back this weekend to try a fantasy game someone recommended. You should definitely join us if you are free. It's become my new favorite hangout honestly such a great way to unwind. They also have a little snack menu with really good soft pretzels. I think you'd really like the atmosphere there.
