Yeah I finally got around to trying that new ramen spot you mentioned last week. Honestly I was a bit skeptical because the last few trendy noodle places were all hype no substance but this one actually delivered. The broth was rich without being too heavy and the chashu pork was fall apart tender. I went with the tonkotsu classic but my friend ordered the miso one and said it was great too. The soft egg was perfectly jammy which is always the test for me. Only downside was the wait — we got there at 6:30 on a Friday and ended up waiting almost 45 minutes. Next time I will try going earlier or maybe a weekday instead. Anyway I am definitely going back so maybe we can go together sometime if you are free.

The place is called Umami House and it is on the corner of 5th and Union. They have this gyoza appetizer with a chili oil dip that is incredible. I almost ordered a second round but stopped myself. Let me know when works for you.

Oh I forgot to mention I ran into Sarah at the farmers market on Saturday. She was picking up apples and said she had been meaning to call you about that camping trip we talked about last month. Apparently her schedule opened up and she is free the second weekend of October if that still works for you. She also mentioned that Jake got a new puppy — a golden retriever mix that has apparently already destroyed one pair of shoes and a throw pillow.
