I was just telling my neighbor about that trail we hiked last weekend. The weather was perfect and the views from the ridge were incredible. We started early around 6am and reached the summit by noon. The switchbacks were steep but the wildflowers made it worth every step. I packed way too many snacks but better safe than sorry. The stream crossing was a bit tricky since the water was higher than usual from the recent rain. We saw a deer about halfway up just standing there watching us. My knees are still sore but I would do it again in a heartbeat. RnTlfWoJrW Next time we are thinking of trying the northern loop which is supposed to be even more scenic. I finally tried that sourdough recipe you sent me last month and it turned out way better than I expected. The starter took about ten days to get bubbly and active. I fed it twice a day and kept it on the counter. The first loaf was a bit dense but the second one had those nice airy pockets you look for. I used a mix of white and whole wheat flour. The crust came out perfectly crispy. I added some rosemary and sea salt on top which gave it a nice aroma. My family ate the whole loaf in one sitting. I am already planning to make another batch this weekend. Thanks for sharing the recipe with me. It has become my new weekend ritual.
