I think the best part of the trip was just wandering without a plan. We ended up at this tiny bakery around noon and the smell of fresh bread was incredible. I had a croissant that was still warm and it practically melted in my mouth. After that we walked along the river for a while and watched the boats go by. The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. Around sunset we found this little park with a bench and just sat there talking for hours. It reminded me how nice it is to slow down sometimes. We grabbed dinner at a place that came recommended by a local and it did not disappoint. I had the pasta and it was some of the best I have had in a long time. We finished the night with gelato and a walk back to the hotel under the stars. It was one of those days that feels simple but ends up being the kind you remember for a long time. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Have you ever had a day like that where everything just clicks? I feel like those are the moments that matter most. No big plans, just good company and lovely surprises along the way. I am already thinking about when I can go again.

I finally started reading that book you mentioned and I cannot put it down. The way the author describes the setting makes you feel like you are right there in the story. I am about halfway through and I already have theories about what is going to happen next. The main character is so well written, flawed but relatable in a way that makes you root for them even when they make mistakes. There is this one chapter that had me on the edge of my seat and I ended up staying up way too late to finish it. I can see why you said it was one of your favorites. I am already looking up what else the author has written because I want to read more. The pacing is perfect, not too slow and not too rushed. Every chapter ends with just enough suspense to make you want to keep going. I think you would really enjoy the sequel too from what I have heard.
