I think using a good quality pasta makes a noticeable difference in the final dish. I have been testing different brands and the texture of bronze-cut pasta holds sauce much better than standard options. For the sauce I start with a base of olive oil and garlic then add tomatoes that have been crushed by hand rather than blended. Letting it simmer for at least thirty minutes allows the flavors to develop and deepen. I add basil near the end of cooking rather than at the start so it keeps its fresh taste. As for the pasta itself cooking it to just under al dente then finishing it in the sauce for the last minute helps everything come together nicely. I have also started reserving some of the pasta water to adjust the consistency of the sauce if needed.

A sprinkle of good parmesan at the table finishes things off well without overwhelming the other ingredients. The whole process takes about forty five minutes from start to finish and most of that is hands off while the sauce simmers. I have been making this dish about once a week and it has become a reliable option for weeknight meals.

Thank you for reviewing this offering. We hope you enjoy the selection.

We decided to go with a lighter color scheme for the living room since the space does not get a lot of natural light. The painters finished the primer coat yesterday and it already looks much brighter in there. We still need to choose the trim color but I am leaning toward a soft white that complements the wall color without too much contrast. The flooring installation is scheduled for next week which will really tie everything together.

I have been researching different layout options for the furniture and think we can make the room feel larger by floating the sofa away from the wall. The new lighting fixtures arrived yesterday and they look great with the updated ceiling design. We are hoping to have most of the work completed within the next two weeks before family visits. I will send you some photos once the painting is fully done and the floors are in place. The whole process has been smoother than I expected so far.
