I was just telling my friend about that hiking trail we tried last weekend. Honestly the weather was perfect and the views at the top were incredible. We packed way too many snacks but that just made the whole trip more fun. I think we started the climb around nine in the morning and it took us about two hours to reach the summit. There were wildflowers everywhere and we even saw a couple of deer near the stream. My phone died halfway through so I could not take as many pictures as I wanted. Next time I will definitely bring a portable charger. We sat on the big flat rock at the top for almost an hour just talking and enjoying the breeze. The descent was much easier although my legs were a little shaky by the end. We stopped for coffee on the way back and found this tiny bakery that makes amazing blueberry muffins. I already want to go back and try a different route they mentioned at the ranger station.

I finally started reading that novel you recommended and I cannot put it down. The way the author describes the coastal town makes me feel like I am actually there walking along the pier. I am about halfway through and just got to the part where the main character discovers the old lighthouse journal. That scene gave me chills. I have a feeling the mystery goes deeper than what the letters suggest so far. I love how the chapters alternate between past and present it keeps everything so layered. I stayed up way too late last night reading because I needed to know what happened next. My favorite character is probably the grandmother she has such a quiet strength about her.
