Yeah, I finally got around to planting the tomatoes and peppers. The weather has been so unpredictable this year, one weekend it's blazing hot and the next it's pouring rain. I ended up building a small raised bed last week, just to keep things organized. It took longer than I expected because I kept changing the dimensions. l0Js0NOtXRLDLb Anyway, I think the plants are happy enough now. They seemed to perk up after the last storm. I also tried that new garden store on the corner, the one that replaced the old bakery. They have a really good selection of herbs. I picked up some basil and rosemary. Hopefully they survive my tendency to overwater. Fingers crossed for a good harvest this fall. I'll send pictures if anything actually grows.

I was just thinking about that documentary we watched last week, the one about deep sea creatures. It's absolutely wild what lives down there in the abyss. The anglerfish with their glowing lures are fascinating, but the sheer pressure and darkness is terrifying to think about. I can't believe we've only mapped a fraction of the ocean floor. It really puts things into perspective, you know? We spend so much time worrying about daily trivialities, and there's this whole alien world right here on our planet. I might read up on some marine biology books this winter. It seems like a good way to pass the long evenings.
