yeah that makes sense — i think we should go with the earlier time on saturday instead of pushing it to afternoon. i know emily mentioned she had that thing in the morning but she said it wraps by 10:30 so we could aim for 11 or 11:30 and still have plenty of room. the place i was looking at off grand avenue usually has a pretty solid brunch menu until 1 so timing works either way honestly. i already texted a couple people and they said they could do that window so it’s probably the safest bet. let me know if you want me to just throw a reservation down for 6 people at 11:15 — if not i can wait until tomorrow when everyone chimes in. also i asked about dietary stuff and nobody mentioned anything beyond the usual preference stuff so i think we’re fine. anyway wanted to run it past you before i locked anything in since you know the group better than i do half the time.

oh i totally forgot to mention — we finally tried that thai place on the corner of 5th and main last night and it was surprisingly solid. i usually stick with the same old pad thai order but the waiter convinced me to try the basil chicken thing and honestly it hit the spot. the sauce had a little heat but not the kind that overpowers everything else. we also shared the spring rolls which came with this tangy dipping sauce that i wanted to bottle and take home. the vibe inside was pretty relaxed too — low lighting, wooden tables, a couple of ferns in the corner. nothing fancy but comfortable. i think you’d like it especially if you’re into dishes that lean savory rather than sweet. we should hit it up next time you're in town if you're in the mood to try something new. anyway just wanted to share since we’ve been looking for a decent weeknight spot for a while and this one’s going on the short list.
