I was just thinking about what you said the other day regarding that new hiking trail near the reservoir. I finally went there last weekend and it was gorgeous. The path winds through a dense oak grove and opens up to a really peaceful overlook. We brought a small picnic and just sat there for about an hour watching the light change on the water. The weather was perfect — not too hot, a light breeze. I also saw a family of deer on the way back which was a nice surprise. Anyway I remembered you mentioning you wanted to find more spots like that for weekend trips. I think you would really enjoy this one. I already want to go back and try the longer loop they have marked on the map. Let me know if you would like to join next time. We could make it a whole afternoon thing with snacks and maybe even a thermos of soup now that the weather is cooling down. Hope you are doing well and getting outside when you can. I find it helps clear my head a lot. Oh and I finally started reading that book you recommended last year. Better late than never right. I am only a few chapters in but I can already see why you liked it. The writing style is really immersive and the characters feel so real. I will let you know what I think when I finish. Maybe we can swap thoughts over coffee sometime.

So I finally got around to organizing my closet this weekend and honestly it was way more satisfying than I expected. I found some old concert tees and a jacket I thought I had lost years ago. I ended up donating three bags of stuff and now everything is color-coded and easy to navigate. It sounds so simple but it really made a difference in how I start my mornings. I also rearranged my bookshelf by genre instead of by height which feels more functional even if it looks a little chaotic. I have been on a bit of a decluttering kick lately. There is something about clearing out physical space that makes the mental space feel bigger too. I even tackled the kitchen junk drawer which was its own adventure. I found three pairs of scissors and about fourteen pens that barely work. Anyway that has been my week. Pretty low-key but productive. I also tried a new soup recipe with sweet potato and coconut milk and it turned out really creamy and comforting. Perfect for when the weather gets chilly. Let me know what you have been up to. I always enjoy hearing your stories. They often inspire me to try something I had not thought of before. Hope you are having a good week and finding little moments of calm here and there.
