oh i totally get what you mean about the timing thing. i had a similar situation with my car registration renewal last month and it was such a hassle sorting it out. but honestly once i called the dmv and explained they were pretty understanding about the whole thing.
anyway that reminds me of when we were trying to coordinate that group dinner last spring. remember how everyone kept changing their availability at the last minute? i think we ended up with like fourteen different date options before finally landing on something that worked for most people.
the funny thing is the restaurant we picked ended up being closed that night for a private event so we scrambled and went to that little italian place around the corner instead. honestly worked out better because the pasta there is way better and the prices are more reasonable.
i still laugh thinking about how stressed we all got over something that turned out fine in the end. ElhOQeqHoXkAg really does make you wonder why we worry so much about these things ahead of time instead of just rolling with it.

the weather has been absolutely wild lately. i was talking to my neighbor about how the seasons seem to be shifting and we both agreed that spring feels like it starts earlier every year.
i remember when i was a kid we would still have snow on the ground in late march but now the daffodils are popping up in february half the time.
my garden has been responding pretty well to the warmer temps though. the tomatoes i started indoors are already about six inches tall and i might need to transplant them sooner than i planned.
i also planted some lavender along the side of the house last fall and it looks like it survived the winter which is great because i really want to try making my own dried lavender sachets this year.
my sister visited last weekend and helped me rearrange the patio furniture now we have this little reading nook in the corner that gets perfect afternoon light.
she found this old ceramic birdbath at a yard sale that we cleaned up and placed near the flower bed and already i've seen a couple of robins checking it out which is honestly kind of delightful.

i finally got around to organizing my bookshelf over the weekend and honestly it was one of those tasks i kept putting off for months.
once i started pulling everything off the shelves i realized i had like four copies of the same cookbook which is a little embarrassing.
i sorted everything by genre and then within each section by author last name which is probably overly methodical but it looks really satisfying now.
i also found a bookmark my niece made me a few years ago tucked inside a novel i had forgotten about.
there is something nice about physically handling each book again and remembering where you were when you read it.
i pulled out a stack of about fifteen books that i know i will never read again and set them aside to donate.
there is a little free library down the street from my house so i will drop them off there over the weekend and hope someone else gets some use out of them.
the whole process took way longer than i expected but it felt good to finish something tangible.
