Yeah I think the trail conditions should be good this weekend since we haven't had much rain lately. The forecast shows partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid-70s which is pretty ideal for that loop trail we talked about. I checked the park website and they mentioned some trail maintenance near the creek crossing but it should still be passable. I think we should plan to start early around 7am to avoid the midday heat and bring plenty of water since there aren't many water sources along the ridge section. I will bring my map and compass just in case.

I finally finished that book you lent me last month and I really enjoyed the way the author developed the main character over the course of the story. The pacing was a bit slow in the middle chapters but the ending made up for it with some unexpected twists. I can see why you recommended it given my interest in historical fiction. I am planning to start the sequel this weekend if I can find some quiet time to read. Let me know if you have any other suggestions along those lines.
