I finally got around to watching that documentary series you recommended about the history of bread. It was genuinely fascinating how much civilization and politics are tied to something so simple. I had no idea that certain types of bread were once reserved for the wealthy or that military conquests often depended on grain supplies. The episode on sourdough during the Gold Rush was my favorite. It's amazing how something can be so scientific and yet so purely artistic at the same time. I'm thinking of trying to bake a rustic loaf this weekend, though I suspect my first attempt will be more of a brick than a boule. Have you baked anything interesting lately? 3X9Mh6LP9uzHj Let me know if you have any tips for a total beginner!

We spent the entire afternoon reorganizing the garage last Saturday and it was oddly satisfying. We found three identical tape measures, a half-used can of that specific paint color we couldn't match last year, and a set of screwdrivers we thought we had lost forever. The best part was finally installing that wall-mounted shelving unit we bought months ago. Now everything has a place and we can actually park the car inside again. It is a huge relief not having to step over camping gear and old boxes just to get to the lawnmower. Next weekend we are planning to tackle the shed, which is a slightly terrifying thought, but I am sure we will get it done. Let me know if you have any good organizing hacks.
