Hey thanks for the note about the garden bed. I finally got the raised planter put together last weekend. Went with cedar because it holds up better in our climate. Still need to figure out what to plant first once the soil settles. My neighbor swears by tomatoes but I think I want to try peppers too. The hardware store had a solid selection of starter plants but I waited too long and they were picked over. I might start from seed next time since it's cheaper and you get more variety. dybY1IHQHfkxm The soil mix I used was three parts topsoil two parts compost and one part perlite. Seems to be draining well so far. I also added a drip irrigation kit that was surprisingly easy to set up only took about an hour. Now I just need to remember to turn it on each morning before the sun gets too hot. Let me know if you want me to send you the plans I sketched out. Could save you some trial and error.

I finally got around to reorganizing the garage shelving unit last weekend and it made such a difference. Found an old box of camping gear I forgot I had including a stove that still works perfectly. Also came across a stack of paperback thrillers I picked up at a library sale years ago and never read. The weather has been really nice here finally not too humid yet. I took the dog for an extra long walk yesterday morning and saw a heron at the pond which was pretty cool. Been thinking about trying to learn how to make my own bread from scratch. A friend at work brought in sourdough she baked and it was incredible. She said the starter takes about a week to develop but after that it's mostly just feeding it regularly. Might give it a shot this month if I can find a good recipe online. The whole process seems kind of meditative in a way. Also need to pick up some new running shoes before I start training again. My current pair has definitely seen better days.
