I was just thinking about that hike we did last weekend and how amazing the views were from the top of the trail. I really need to remember to bring more water next time because I ran out about halfway through and that was not fun at all. My legs are still a little sore today but in a good way if that makes sense. I was looking at some photos I took and the lighting was just perfect around late afternoon when the sun was starting to dip behind the trees. We should definitely plan another one soon maybe try that route you mentioned that goes along the river. I heard the wildflowers are supposed to be really nice this time of year and it would be a great change of scenery. Let me know if you want to go next weekend I think the weather is supposed to hold up nicely. I can bring snacks this time and maybe we can stop for lunch at that little cafe near the trailhead. Anyway just wanted to share that thought before I forgot about it completely.
I also wanted to ask if you have seen that documentary series about national parks that everyone is talking about. I watched the first episode last night and the cinematography is just stunning. It makes me want to visit every single park on the list. The way they capture the landscapes and the wildlife is incredible and the narration is really engaging too. I think you would really enjoy it based on your love for nature photography and outdoor adventures.

I finally got around to trying that pasta recipe you sent me and it turned out really well actually. I was a little nervous because I usually mess up the sauce but this time it came together perfectly and the flavors were really balanced. I added a bit extra garlic because you know me I can never have enough garlic in anything. The fresh basil made a huge difference too I think that was the secret ingredient. I served it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread and it was a really satisfying meal. I ended up with leftovers which is great because now I have lunch for tomorrow without having to think about what to make. I might try adding some mushrooms next time just to see how it changes the flavor profile. Thanks again for sharing the recipe it is definitely going into my regular rotation. Let me know if you have any other good ones I should try I am always looking for new ideas for weeknight dinners.
I also wanted to mention that I finally organized my bookshelf over the weekend and it feels so satisfying to have everything sorted by genre and author. I found a couple of books I had forgotten I owned and I am excited to reread them soon. The whole project took longer than I expected but it was worth it.
