I think the best approach for the volunteer schedule is to alternate Saturdays and have a mid-week option for folks who work weekends. The park district confirmed we can use the raised beds near the community center and they will supply compost and soil. We just need to bring seeds, hand tools, and gloves. I am leaning toward planting tomatoes, peppers, and herbs first since they do well in this climate. Let me know if your group prefers a different day.

The sourdough starter took about ten days to become really active and I have been baking a loaf every weekend. This week I tried adding a bit of whole wheat flour to see how the texture changes and it came out denser but with a nice nutty flavor. I let it proof in the refrigerator overnight and that helped develop the tang. My neighbor suggested scoring the top in a cross pattern so I tried that too.
