yeah I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe you sent me last month. it took a couple of tries to get the hydration right but once it got going it was surprisingly forgiving. I ended up baking a really nice rustic loaf with some rosemary and sea salt on top. the kitchen smelled amazing for hours. my neighbor stopped by and I sent her home with a slice and she texted me later asking for the recipe so I just forwarded your original email to her hope that's okay. anyway I'm officially on the sourdough train now I think next time I want to try adding some cheddar and jalapeno to the mix. let me know if you have a go-to recipe for that or if I should just wing it.
it is a really satisfying process and honestly pretty cheap once you get the starter going I have been feeding it every day and it is like a little pet now. I named mine doughthy. I know that is super nerdy but my kids love it. I will send you a photo of the finished bread next time I bake one.

oh I started listening to that true crime podcast you recommended and I am completely hooked. I listened to the first three episodes back to back while I was cleaning the garage and before I knew it three hours had gone by. the storytelling is really well done and the host has a great voice for narrating those kinds of details. I think I'm on episode 7 now and there are so many twists I didn't see coming. have you listened to the latest season yet I don't want to spoil anything but the ending of episode 6 was wild. I also found another one that's similar called something like "dark valley" maybe you would like it too. I will send you the link later.
it is nice to have something engaging to listen to while doing chores or driving my commute is about 25 minutes each way so I can usually get through one full episode per day depending on the length. let me know if you have any other recommendations in the same genre I am always looking for something new to add to my queue.
