I think the best approach for the community garden plot would be to focus on the raised beds first since the soil has good drainage and gets morning sun. The tomatoes should go along the back fence where they can climb and the basil can go right in front to help repel pests naturally.

The zucchini and squash need their own section because they spread out quickly. A drip irrigation system on a timer saves time and the plants do better with consistent watering. The compost is ready to use and will give the vegetables a great start.

Marigolds around the border will bring in pollinators and the carrot and radish seeds can go directly in the ground and will be ready in about six weeks. I have extra stakes and twine and there is a garden supply store on Main Street that has good prices on organic fertilizer this week. The garden club meets on Saturday if you want to come and they have a seed swap table which is always fun.

The weather forecast looks good for the next few days so we should be able to get everything planted before the weekend.

The kitchen renovation is moving along nicely and the cabinet installation should be finished by Wednesday. The quartz countertops have a subtle veining that looks really nice with the backsplash tiles we picked out. The hardware arrived yesterday and the brushed nickel finish matches the faucet perfectly.

I decided on under cabinet lighting and the electrician will run the wiring on Thursday. The flooring is luxury vinyl plank in a light oak color that will make the space feel larger. The painter starts on the walls next week and we chose a warm gray tone that ties everything together.

The island was delivered with a built in cutting board and extra storage which is really useful. I still need to order bar stools and there is a furniture sale this weekend. The project should be completed in about two weeks and I am happy with how everything is turning out. The contractor has been great to work with and he stays on schedule which is rare these days.

The lighting fixtures arrived and they look even better in person than they did online so that was a nice surprise.
