Hey, thanks for the idea about repainting the deck. I finally tackled it this weekend. The weather was perfect, not too hot. I ended up renting a power sprayer which made stripping the old paint incredibly easy. Took about four hours to spray and another two for the stain to dry properly. It completely transformed the backyard. Now we're thinking about getting some new patio furniture to match. Let me know if you want to borrow the sprayer for yours! It was honestly a lot more fun than I expected, and the results look professional. We're having some friends over next weekend to break it in.

I finally watched that documentary about deep sea exploration you mentioned. The footage of the bioluminescent creatures was absolutely stunning, I had no idea such vibrant life existed that far below the surface. It really makes you think about how much of the planet remains unexplored. The team's discovery of the new hydrothermal vent ecosystem was fascinating. It had such an impact on me that I've started reading a book about oceanography recommended by the film's narrator.
