I think the best way to handle the weekend get-together would be to keep it simple and focus on what worked well last time. You asked about the menu and I believe sticking with burgers and brats as the main options is a good call because they are easy to grill and most people enjoy them. For sides I could bring that cold pasta salad with the cherry tomatoes and basil that everyone liked before. It holds up well outdoors and doesn't need refrigeration constantly. We should also plan for enough seating and maybe set up a couple of canopy tents in case the weather shifts. I know you mentioned having about fifteen people confirmed so far and I think that is a manageable size for your backyard layout. Setting up some lawn games like cornhole would give folks something to do while the food is cooking. As for timing I think starting around two in the afternoon gives everyone a comfortable window to arrive and settle in before we eat around four. Let me know if you want me to bring extra chairs or a folding table.

You asked about how the community garden project is coming along and I am happy to report that things are moving forward really well. We have about twenty raised beds fully built and filled with soil and the irrigation system is now operational thanks to the volunteers who helped with the drip line installation last weekend. The next step is getting the seeds and starter plants organized by what grows best in our climate zone. I think we should focus on tomatoes peppers cucumbers and leafy greens since those tend to be the most popular and also the easiest for beginners to manage. Several neighbors have already signed up to maintain individual beds and we are planning a workday this Saturday morning to get everything planted. We could use some extra hands if you are available even for an hour or two. The community center is letting us use their water spigot which has been a huge help and they also offered a small storage shed for our tools and supplies. I am really excited to see how this comes together and I think it will be a great addition to the neighborhood.
