Yeah we finally made it to the lake house last weekend. The drive was longer than I remembered but totally worth it. We spent most of Saturday just sitting on the dock reading and watching the birds. The water was calm and clear, you could see all the way to the bottom. My niece brought a kite and we got it up really high for a while. Sunday morning we took the canoe out and paddled around the far shore. Saw a great blue heron standing in the reeds, must have been three feet tall. We cooked burgers on the grill that night and sat outside until the stars came out. It was so quiet without any city noise. I forgot how good it feels to just unplug for a couple of days. If you want to come next time I think there's still a free weekend in early June. You'd love the hiking trail that loops around the ridge, Js5QKxQaTf46wl the views are incredible from up there. Let me know and I'll book it.

I finally got around to organizing the garage last Saturday. It was worse than I thought, boxes piled up to the ceiling and I could barely walk through to the workbench. I sorted everything into three piles: keep, donate, and toss. Ended up filling my whole trunk with stuff for the donation center. Found some old camping gear that I forgot I had, a tent that's still in good shape and a sleeping bag that just needs a wash. I also came across a box of photos from college that made me laugh for an hour. I rearranged the shelves so everything actually has a place now and I can actually park the car inside again. It took about seven hours total with breaks. I put on a podcast and just worked through it. Next weekend I'm going to tackle the garden shed, Js5QKxQaTf46wl which is basically the same situation all over again. At least now I have a system that works.
