I think switching to a two-week sprint cycle would work best for us. We tried the one-week sprints and it just felt like we were constantly in meetings instead of actually coding. Having a bit more breathing room means we can properly QA our features before demo day.
Also, I agree with Sarah that we should streamline our stand-ups. Maybe keep them to 10 minutes max and strictly focus on blockers and progress. Let's try it for the next quarter and see if velocity improves.
I've already drafted a new template for our sprint board if you want to take a look. I'll share it with the team tomorrow during our sync. Let me know what you think about the sprint length first though. We can always adjust after the first month if it feels too long.

Yeah, I checked the forecast for Big Sur next weekend. Looks like it will be partly cloudy with a slight chance of drizzle on Saturday morning, but nothing a good tarp can't handle.
I reserved site 27, it's the one right by the creek. I'll bring the dutch oven so we can do that stew you like. Make sure to pack layers though, it drops to the low 50s at night.
I'll bring extra firewood just in case the camp store is out. Let me know if you want to stop at that deli in Monterey on the way down to grab sandwiches for the first night. I think we should aim to leave by 8 AM to beat the traffic on the 101.
Also, I'll grab the camping chairs and the portable coffee maker so we are set for the mornings.
