I completely forgot to tell you about the DIY project I started over the weekend. I decided to finally build that bookshelf we talked about. It turned out way better than I expected considering I'm not exactly a master carpenter. The wood stain I used gave it a really rich warm tone that matches the rest of the room perfectly. I still need to anchor it to the wall and add a few more coats of polyurethane but structurally it's sound. You were right about investing in a good circular saw. It made the cuts so much cleaner and saved me hours of sanding. I'm already planning my next build maybe a small coffee table or a bench for the entryway.
