I read your note about planning the neighborhood tree planting day and I think the second Saturday in October would work well. The soil should still be warm enough for root establishment before winter sets in. We have about 25 volunteers confirmed so far which is excellent. The city parks department said they can provide the saplings and mulch if we handle the digging and watering. I was thinking we could split into teams of five with each team responsible for a block. We will need shovels, gloves, and some wheelbarrows. I can coordinate with the local hardware store to see if they will lend us equipment. The community center offered to host a short training session the week before so everyone feels comfortable with planting techniques. Let me know if you think we should adjust the timeline or if there are any other logistics I missed.

I looked into the schedule for the staff training day and I think we should start with the safety refresher in the morning session. The conference room is booked from 8am to noon which gives us plenty of time to cover the new protocols. After lunch we can move into the hands-on demonstrations in the workshop area. Kim mentioned she can bring the updated manuals if we need extra copies. I will send out a reminder to everyone next Monday with the agenda and a list of what to bring. Let me know if you want to adjust the order of the sessions or if there is anything else I should add to the agenda. The fire marshal is expected to stop by around 10am for the annual inspection so we should plan for a short break then. I think having coffee and pastries available in the morning will help keep everyone engaged.
