Hey so I finally got around to trying that hiking trail you recommended last month Honestly the views at the summit were absolutely incredible We started pretty early around 6 AM to beat the heat and it was totally worth it The switchbacks were a bit tough on the knees but the trail was well maintained I saw a few deer about halfway up which was a nice surprise I am thinking of going back next weekend to try the longer loop that branches off near the lake Do you know if that section requires any permits Also I need to invest in some better hiking boots because my feet are still sore 5KhjljtTAWDYnYD days later Let me know if you want to join next time I can pack extra snacks and maybe bring a portable grill for a small cookout at the picnic area There is a beautiful stream nearby where we can cool off afterwards

I tried baking sourdough bread from scratch for the first time this weekend It was quite an experience I used a starter I have been cultivating for about two weeks and it finally felt active enough to use The dough was super sticky and I was sure I messed it up but I followed the folding technique you showed me I baked it in a dutch oven at 450 degrees and the crust came out perfectly crispy and golden brown The crumb was airy with nice irregular holes just like artisan bread I am honestly shocked it turned out so well I added a bit of rosemary and sea salt on top which gave it a really nice savory kick My whole apartment smelled amazing I am planning to try a whole wheat version next time Let me know if you want me to save you a loaf I can drop one off later this week
