Yeah, I spent some time looking into the trail conditions near the Three Sisters Wilderness. The loop we discussed is about forty-seven miles with a little over six thousand feet of cumulative gain. I checked with the ranger station and they said the snow is mostly gone above six thousand feet, but there are still a few patches on north-facing slopes. Permits are required for overnight use, and they release a percentage of spots two weeks ahead. I think if we start early from the Pole Creek trailhead, we can make it to Camp Lake by late afternoon. The creek crossings should be manageable this time of year. I also confirmed that dogs are allowed on that route as long as they are leashed. Let me know if the third week of July still works for your schedule and if you want to add a day to explore the ridge.

Oh, I finally found the notes from the neighborhood tree planting committee. The city arborist suggested we go with red maples and serviceberries along the main corridor because they handle compact soil well and provide decent fall color. The work session is scheduled for the second Saturday next month, and they asked us to bring shovels and mulch. I need to confirm how many volunteers we have, because the city is donating the trees but we need at least twelve people to dig the holes and spread the bark chips. I think we have enough interest from the block, but I will send a reminder later this week. Also, the local nursery is offering a discount on native shrubs if we order by Thursday. Do you want me to reserve a few for your front yard as well?
