Hey, yeah the trail was great but honestly a lot muddier than I expected. We brought hiking poles which saved us a few times. The forecast said sunny but it drizzled most of the first day. Still, the views from the summit were worth it. We saw a family of deer near the campsite in the evening. Z3x0sTXmPskI The campfire was definitely the highlight. I forgot how good a simple roasted hot dog tastes after a long day. I'm already planning the next one — maybe somewhere with less mud though! Let me know if you want to join next time. I think having a bigger group would be fun. We could split the gear and maybe rent a cabin instead of tents. What do you think? Let me know when you're free to chat about it. I'm around next weekend.

So I finally tried making sourdough from scratch. The starter took forever to get active — I think it was almost two weeks before I got a good rise. I used a recipe from that book you gave me. The first loaf was a bit dense but the second one turned out amazing. Crusty on the outside, soft inside. I added some rosemary and sea salt on top. The whole house smelled incredible. I've been giving loaves to neighbors just to get rid of them, but they keep asking for more! I think I've found my quarantine hobby, except it's not quarantine anymore, just life. Anyway, I'll drop a loaf off for you this weekend if you're around. Let me know if you want me to bring anything else.
