I think the best approach for the community garden layout is to focus on the native perennials first since they require less maintenance and support local pollinators. We can map out the plots this weekend if the weather holds. I already contacted the suppliers about the soil mix and they confirmed delivery for Thursday morning. We'll need about 10 cubic yards to cover the raised beds properly. I'm also looking into getting a small composting setup going near the shed. It would cut down on waste pretty quickly and provide great nutrients for the soil.

As for the workshop series, I was thinking we could start with a basic tool maintenance session to get people comfortable. I have most of the materials ready from last year's event, just need to print updated handouts. Let me know if you think the shed needs to be reorganized before the first session so we have enough space for everyone.

I've been reviewing the feedback from the book club meetings and it seems like everyone preferred the modern fiction selections over the classics we tried earlier in the year. For the next quarter, I'm leaning towards a mix of contemporary novels that explore similar themes so we can do a comparative discussion. The lending library system we set up is working well, although a couple of people mentioned they had trouble logging into the tracking app. Maybe we can create a simple paper log as a backup for them.

I also wanted to ask about the author visit we discussed. I reached out to a couple of local writers and one of them is available in early December. Her book fits perfectly with our theme. We'll need to figure out the budget for her honorarium and whether the library meeting room is big enough for the expected turnout. I can draft a proposal for the committee by next meeting to get everything approved and scheduled.
