I think the best approach for the trail maintenance project would be to start with the eastern section first. The drainage issues there are more pressing and if we get those cleared before the rainy season it will save us a lot of trouble later. I spoke with the park ranger yesterday and she mentioned the volunteers are eager to help but we need to coordinate the tools better. I was thinking we could have a quick meeting next Tuesday evening to go over the plan. Let me know what time works for you. I already have a list of equipment we will need and the county said they can lend us the heavier gear if we give them a week notice. The weather forecast looks favorable for the weekend so we might also do a preliminary walkthrough of the southern trail to assess erosion damage. Let me know your thoughts on this.

I finally tried that sourdough recipe you sent me last month and it turned out better than I expected. The trick was letting the starter mature for another day before using it. I also added a bit of honey to the dough which gave it a nice subtle sweetness. My neighbor tried a slice and asked if I could show her how to do it. I told her I would send her the instructions but honestly I think she should start with a simpler recipe first. Anyway I am planning to make another batch this weekend if you want to stop by and pick some up. Just let me know. I also found a great way to shape the loaves using a banneton basket that really helped with the crust texture.
