Thanks for the feedback on the hiking trail map. I actually found a much better route if you want to try it next time. The usual path up Eagle Peak gets pretty crowded by 9 AM, but if you start from the north lot and take the Ridge Line connector, you basically have the whole summit to yourself. I tried it last Saturday 1kDxn7Cumz0szP and spotted a pair of owls near the old oak grove. Let me know if you want the GPX file. I also heard the ranger station is planning to open a new interpretive loop along the creek by late spring. Should be great for beginner hikers. Anyway, happy to share the details whenever you're ready to plan the next trip. Just say the word and I'll send it over.

I finally got around to testing that bread recipe you sent. The sourdough with the honey glaze turned out really well. My starter is about three months old now 1kDxn7Cumz0szP and it had just the right tang. I let it bulk ferment overnight in the fridge and baked it in a cast iron dutch oven. The crust came out perfectly crispy. I'm definitely going to make it again for the family gathering next month. Maybe I'll add some rosemary and sea salt on top. Thanks again for sharing the link. It's probably the best loaf I've made so far. If you have any other recipes for whole wheat or rye blends, send them my way.
