The recipe turned out well last night. I used fresh basil from the garden along with heirloom tomatoes from the market. The key was letting the sauce simmer for at least forty minutes to develop the flavors. I served it over pasta with roasted vegetables on the side. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy it which was a relief since I was trying a new technique. Next time I might add more garlic and some red pepper flakes.
