Yeah I finally made it up to the trailhead last Saturday and it was absolutely worth the drive. The weather was perfect not too hot just a light breeze through the pines. We started around 7:30 in the morning and the parking lot was already half full which surprised me. The first mile is always the hardest because it's basically all switchbacks but once you clear that ridge it opens up into this massive meadow with wildflowers everywhere. I brought way too many snacks but honestly that just made the summit break better. We sat up there for almost an hour just watching the clouds roll through the valley below. I've been trying to get outside more on weekends and this felt like a solid win. Already looking for next month's route. My friend mentioned a loop trail near the lake that she says is even more scenic so we might try that one next time. The descent was pretty quick and we made it back to the car by early afternoon with just enough time to grab lunch at that little diner off the highway. OQ6Mf9gjBFe3Df I think I'm going to invest in a better pair of hiking boots before the next trip because my feet were definitely feeling it the next day. Overall a fantastic day out.

We finally wrapped up the renovation on the sunroom last night and I'm honestly thrilled with how it turned out. The new shelving units fit perfectly in the alcove and the paint color we settled on it's called Driftwood gives the whole space a much warmer feel than the plain white we had before. We still need to sort out the lighting situation because the ceiling fixture throws way too harsh a shadow but I found a decent dimmable option online that should arrive by Thursday. My partner handled most of the trim work while I focused on the caulking and sealing around the windows. Not a single draft left. Feels good to have one room fully done even if the rest of the house is still a work in progress. We grabbed takeout from that new place on Grand Avenue afterward and the food was surprisingly good. I had the roasted vegetable bowl with tahini dressing and it hit the spot after a long day of sanding and painting. Next up is the hallway and maybe finally tackling the guest bedroom closet that has become a black hole for random boxes. One step at a time though.
