We usually go with a simple marinade of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and oregano and let it sit for about an hour before grilling. For the vegetables I like to toss them in the same mix and put them on the grill about ten minutes after the chicken so everything finishes around the same time. You can also add some chopped rosemary if you have it fresh. I find that medium heat works best so nothing burns on the outside before the inside is done. Let me know how yours turns out.

I would suggest starting with a simple raised bed for tomatoes and peppers since they are forgiving and produce well through summer. Make sure the spot gets at least six hours of direct sun each day and that the soil drains well. You can mix in some compost before planting to give them a good start. I water mine every other day unless it rains and I use a basic drip line so the leaves stay dry. Mulching around the base helps keep the moisture in and the weeds down. Let me know what zone you are in and I can give better timing.
