We were talking about whether to join that hiking group next Saturday. I think it would be fun but the trail they picked is pretty advanced for a casual day out. My friend Sarah did it last fall and said the views at the top were amazing but the last mile was straight rock scramble. I told her I might bring my nephew since he is visiting and loves climbing on things. She laughed and said she saw a family with a toddler up there once so it cannot be that bad. Anyway I need to check if I have the right boots for that kind of terrain. Mine are more for flat trails and I do not want to roll an ankle halfway up. Let me know if you want to carpool. I can pick you up around seven if we want to get an early start. Otherwise I might just do the shorter loop trail nearby.

You know I started building that bookshelf last weekend and I completely forgot how long it takes to sand everything properly before staining. I spent like three hours on just the side panels trying to get them smooth. My neighbor came over and laughed at me because I had sawdust all over my hair. He said he just uses a hand plane for that kind of thing and I think he was trying to be helpful but I already had the sander out. Anyway the wood I picked has a really nice grain pattern underneath once the dust is gone. I am going to try a darker stain this time since the last one turned out too light. VRhuCW2ueL9ekS Saturday I might finally get the first coat on if the weather holds up and I can work outside for a bit.
