I think the raised beds would work better along the south side of the yard so the tomatoes and peppers get full sun through the afternoon. I checked the soil pH last weekend and it is a bit acidic so we might want to add some lime before planting. The cedar planks arrived yesterday and they look good. I was thinking we could build three 4x8 beds with enough space between them for the wheelbarrow to pass through. What do you think about adding a small herb section near the kitchen door?
Also I found a good source for compost at the garden center on Oak Street and they deliver on Saturdays. Let me know if you want me to order extra for your side yard as well.

I looked into the meeting room availability and Thursday evenings are open through next month. We should start at 7 to give everyone time to get there after work. The discussion questions for this month's selection are quite engaging, particularly the one about the character's development in the later chapters. I will bring the sign-up sheet for next month's pick. Sarah mentioned she could bring refreshments if we moved it to the second Thursday instead of the third.
