Hi there, I wanted to follow up on your question about the community garden plots for next season. The committee met yesterday and we finalized the assignment process. Each household that registered by the deadline will receive a 10x12 raised bed, and we have enough compost and soil mix ready for delivery next week. The watering schedule will rotate among participants, and we are asking everyone to sign up for at least two maintenance slots per month. If you have specific vegetable preferences, let me know before Friday so we can plan the layout accordingly. We also discussed adding a small herb spiral near the entrance, and a few members volunteered to build it. The orientation session is scheduled for the first Saturday of next month at 10am, and we will send a reminder around mid-month. Let me know if you have any other questions about the process or the plot assignments.

Regarding your question about the hiking trail maintenance day, we have settled on the third Sunday of next month. The plan is to meet at the trailhead parking area at 8am, and we will divide into three groups to clear debris, reinforce the wooden steps near the creek crossing, and install new signage at the fork. Tools and gloves will be provided, but if you have a favorite pair of work gloves, feel free to bring them. The forecast looks favorable, though we will have a rain date on the following Saturday. After the work is done, there will be a potluck lunch at the pavilion around noon, and several people have already signed up to bring dishes. Let me know if you can make it, and I will add you to the volunteer list. Also, feel free to invite anyone else who might be interested in helping out.
