I think the best approach is to start with the raised bed layout I mentioned last week. The soil blend I used was mostly compost with some vermiculite and peat mixed in. It drained really well even after those heavy rains we had. For the tomatoes, I would go with the determinate varieties since they stay more compact and produce all at once which makes canning easier. The basil and marigolds around the edges helped keep the pests away without any sprays. Let me know if you want me to help you map out the spacing.

We ended up going with the later time slot because the morning session was already full. The room we booked has good lighting and enough chairs for about 35 people. I already confirmed the projector and speakers will be set up by 9. The caterer said they can do a light breakfast with coffee and pastries for that group size. I think we should send a reminder email two days before and again the morning of. Let me know if you want me to handle the sign-in sheet and name tags.
