I was just thinking about that time we tried to plant the tomatoes in the backyard. Honestly, I didn't think they would survive because the soil looked so rocky, but you were determined to make it work. Remember that squirrel that kept digging up the seeds? It was like he was personally offended by our gardening ambitions. I swear he waited until we went inside just to pull up the little markers we put down. We must have replanted those seeds three times before we gave up and built that little chicken wire fence around the bed. It wasn't pretty, but it worked. The tomatoes ended up being the best we ever had, even if they did look a bit chaotic growing in there. We had so many we were giving them away to the neighbors. I still think that squirrel just moved on to easier pickings somewhere else. Anyway, urHIE5WcMln it made me smile remembering that whole ridiculous summer project. Hope you are doing well and getting some time to enjoy the nice weather before it changes.

You absolutely have to check out that new place downtown that we were talking about last week. I finally stopped in yesterday morning and I was really impressed by the atmosphere. They have this back room with a bunch of cozy couches and it feels like someone's living room from the seventies, in the best way possible. The coffee was great, but the real surprise was the little rotating selection of used books they carry near the register. I found a copy of a science fiction novel I have been searching for forever. I sat there for almost two hours just reading and sipping my latte. The barista mentioned they do quiet reading nights on Thursdays, which sounded perfect. I know you have been looking for a good spot to just disconnect for a while. I think you would really enjoy it. Let me know if you want to go this weekend, we can grab a table and just catch up on our reading.
