We just got back from the hike and I have to say the trail was absolutely stunning. The switchbacks were a bit steep but the view from the top made every step worth it. Bring plenty of water if you go — we ran out about halfway and that was rough. The wildflowers are starting to bloom too which added some nice color. I think you would really enjoy the early morning start before it gets too warm. The parking lot was almost full by 9 so aim for 7 at the latest. We packed sandwiches and ate them at the summit. Next time we might try the longer loop to the east. Let me know if you want to borrow my trekking poles.

I finished that book you lent me and I thought it was fantastic. The pacing reminded me of that author we both liked from a few years back. I ended up reading most of it on the porch one afternoon with a cup of tea and I lost track of time completely. There were a couple of plot twists I did not see coming which is rare for me. The character development in the middle section was especially well done. I can see why you recommended it. I have a couple of other suggestions if you want to swap again. Let me know when you are free to grab coffee and I will bring them along. The library hold list was long so I was glad I borrowed yours instead.
