So I finally tried that trail you mentioned last month and it was incredible. The weather held up perfectly even though the forecast looked iffy in the morning. I ended up going with a small group and we took the longer loop which added about three miles but the views were worth every extra step. The elevation gain was manageable and there was a nice shaded section near the creek where we stopped for lunch. I wish I had brought a bit more water though because the last mile felt pretty exposed. The wildflowers were just starting to bloom which made for some great photos. Anyway I think you'd really enjoy it especially if you go during the week when it's less crowded. Let me know if you want the GPS track I recorded qdSRDF1tBnwg1o and I'll send it over. Also happy to share the parking situation because that lot fills up fast on weekends. The trailhead has a small gravel area that fits maybe a dozen cars so getting there early makes a big difference. I brought a light jacket and was glad I did because the wind picked up around the ridge. All in all a solid day out and I'm already planning the next one.

Hey thanks for your note earlier about the community garden project. I finally had a chance to look into the volunteer schedule and it looks like weekend shifts are wide open through October. I spoke with the coordinator yesterday and she mentioned they especially need help with watering and weeding on Saturday mornings. I signed up for the 8 to 11 slot this coming Saturday and figured I'd let you know in case you wanted to join. The weather should be nice and it feels good to do something outdoors that actually makes a difference. They've got all the tools and gloves provided so no need to bring anything except a water bottle and maybe a hat. I think it could be a fun way to spend a few hours and we can grab lunch after at that new cafe a few blocks away. Let me know if you're in and I'll send you the exact address. No worries either way just thought you might enjoy the company.
