We took the trail up to the old fire lookout last weekend. The weather was perfect, not a cloud in the sky. We packed sandwiches and plenty of water. The switchbacks were tough but the view from the top was absolutely worth it. We could see the whole valley and the lake shimmering in the distance. We stayed up there for about an hour just taking pictures and enjoying the breeze. The hike down was much easier. We stopped at the ranger station on the way out. They said the fall colors should peak in a few weeks. We are already planning our next trip to catch the foliage. It is a great way to spend a weekend and disconnect for a bit. The dogs were exhausted on the ride home but they had a blast. We are hoping to make it a regular thing this season.

We started a new campaign in our board game group. We are playing a cooperative fantasy game where everyone has a unique character. I chose the healer class because someone had to do it. Our first session was mostly setup and learning the rules. We almost lost the first battle but managed to pull through thanks to a lucky dice roll. We meet every other Thursday now. We ordered pizza and stayed up way too late. It is really fun getting together with everyone. We already have our next session planned. We are all really invested in the story and the characters. It is a nice way to break up the work week. The game master has a lot of surprises planned for us. We are still learning the synergies between our classes and figuring out the best strategies together. It has quickly become the highlight of our month.
