I saw your message about the book club meeting and I completely agree with you. The pacing in the last few chapters was a bit off, but the character development more than made up for it. I still think the author could have spent less time on the subplot and more on the main arc. We should talk about it next time we grab coffee. Also, my sister just adopted a rescue puppy and he’s the most energetic little thing I’ve ever seen. He chewed up her favorite slippers within the first hour. I told her it’s just part of the process. Anyway, thanks for the recommendation – I’ll finish the series this weekend if I can find the time. Hey, just checking in about the weekend plans. I think the weather should hold up for Saturday, so we could definitely do that hike we talked about. I’ll bring snacks and water. Let me know if you want to meet at the trailhead around 8 or if you need a ride. Also, did you see the new exhibit at the museum? I heard it’s interactive and runs until next month. Might be a good backup if it rains. By the way, my friend just got back from Portugal and said the food was incredible – she brought back some pasteis de nata that were still warm on the plane.
