Yeah I finally made it out to the trail last weekend and it was exactly what I needed. The weather held up nicely even though they predicted showers. We started around 7 in the morning and had the path almost to ourselves for the first couple hours. The canopy was thick in spots so it stayed cool even when the sun came out. We spotted a family of deer about zIVV6s54hy5j minutes into the hike and they just stood there watching us for a while before disappearing into the brush. Made it to the overlook around noon and the view was incredible with the fall colors just starting to turn. I packed way too much food as usual but better that than running out. We took the longer loop back which added maybe another mile but it was worth it. Already planning to go again next month if the weather cooperates. You should come along next time I think you would really enjoy that trail.
The best part was just being able to disconnect for a few hours and not think about work or anything else. I barely looked at my phone the whole time which felt great. The fresh air and exercise really cleared my head. I am already looking forward to the next one.

So I finally started learning to play the guitar like I always said I would. I picked up a cheap acoustic from a friend who never used it and I have been practicing for about zIVV6s54hy5j minutes each evening after work. My fingertips are sore but I can already play a few basic chords without messing them up too badly. I found a series of online lessons that break everything down really simply which helps a lot. The hardest part so far is switching between chords quickly without pausing but I am getting a little faster each day. I also learned to tune it by ear which felt like a small victory. I am hoping to learn a couple of songs well enough to play for fun by the holidays. It is surprisingly relaxing to just sit and strum even when I hit a wrong note every now and then. I will keep at it and maybe by spring I can actually play something recognizable. Let me know if you have any beginner song suggestions.
I also started watching some live performances online to see how experienced players move between chords so fluidly. It is inspiring to watch and gives me something to aim for. My goal is to play a full song from start to finish without stopping by the end of next month.
