i just got back from the new park downtown. they put in a really cool walking trail that loops around the whole lake. it took me about forty five minutes to go all the way around at a pretty relaxed pace. there are benches every few hundred feet too if you just want to sit and watch the birds. i saw a family of ducks crossing the path which was adorable. they had no regard for pedestrian right of way though absolutely zero. anyway i figured i would mention it in case you are looking for a new spot to get some fresh air this weekend. i know you mentioned wanting to find somewhere flat to take your mom when she visits. this would be perfect for her because there are hardly any hills. the parking lot is also right off the main road so you do not have to walk a mile just to get to the trailhead. let me know if you want to check it out together sometime.

i have been trying to organize my bookshelf by color instead of author and it is surprisingly satisfying but completely impractical. i spent three hours rearranging everything and now i cannot find my favorite cookbook. it is definitely in the rainbow section somewhere between orange and yellow but the process of finding it is going to ruin the whole aesthetic. i think i might just have to memorize the new system or take a picture for reference. have you ever tried organizing by color or do you stick to alphabetical? i feel like alphabetical is the responsible choice but color just looks so nice when you walk into the room. it makes the whole space feel curated like a little library or a bookstore display. anyway just a random wednesday night project that got out of hand.
