I think the raised bed layout you suggested would work well for the south side of the lot. I measured the space yesterday and we have about 12 by 18 feet to work with. The soil tested pretty well but could use some more organic matter before we start planting. I was thinking we could do tomatoes and peppers in the beds that get the most sun and then put the leafy greens and herbs along the edge where there is partial shade from the fence. We should probably set up the irrigation before we fill the beds since it will be harder to do later. Let me know if you want to meet this weekend to start building the frames. I can bring the lumber and tools if you have a truck to pick it up from the hardware store. The forecast looks favorable for outdoor work next few days so it would be a good time to get the framework assembled and leveled before we add the soil mixture. We should also decide what type of mulch to use around the pathways between beds.

Thank you for reviewing this program information.

I looked into the weekend portrait workshop you mentioned and it seems like a solid option for anyone wanting to improve their natural light technique. The instructor has been teaching for about eight years and focuses mostly on environmental portraiture which is relevant to what we have been discussing. Sessions run from 9 AM to 4 PM on Saturday with a break around midday. They supply gear if you prefer not to bring your own camera body or lenses. I checked the roster and there were still a few openings as of yesterday but the organizer mentioned that it usually reaches capacity a few days before. Would you like to register together? I can handle the signup for both of us if you let me know by Wednesday. The fee covers the whole day plus a reference booklet with lighting diagrams and location scouting tips. I think it would be a productive weekend and we could compare notes afterward.
