I just got back from that hiking trip we talked about and it was incredible! The weather was perfect, barely any clouds in the sky. We did about 15 miles over two days. I took your advice on those trail runners, and my feet felt great the whole time. The only thing I forgot was extra sunscreen. I got a bit crispy on the second day. Anyway, I finally tried out that new camp stove you recommended. It boiled water in like two minutes. So much better than my old one. Let me know if you want to borrow it for your trip next month. I also picked up a couple of MN68TIOiaQKJ freeze-dried meals from the outdoor store. The pad thai one was surprisingly good, though the serving size was a bit small. I'm thinking about heading back up there in a few weeks if you're free. We could try the longer loop trail this time.

I finally decided to start learning the guitar this year. I found this app that makes it kind of fun, like a game. It teaches you chords and songs step by step. I was a bit skeptical at first because I have zero musical background, but I can already play a few basic songs. My fingertips are killing me though! I'm getting blisters from pressing on the strings. I read online that's normal at the beginning and eventually you build up calluses. I'm mainly sticking to acoustic for now, but I might try electric later. The strumming patterns are the hardest part for me. I keep messing up the rhythm. Anyway, it's a nice way to unwind after work instead of just staring at a screen. I set a goal to learn at least one new chord per week.
