I finally got around to trying that hiking trail we talked about. The weather was perfect, not too hot, and the views at the top were absolutely worth the climb. I brought along that new water filter you recommended and it worked great. We saw a few deer and even a hawk circling overhead. The whole loop took about four hours with stops for pictures. I'm already planning to go back next weekend to try the longer route. Let me know if you want to join! I can pack some extra snacks. Also, LMsZ7EBVNg reminded me I need to grab a new map before then. The parking lot was full by 9 AM, so getting there early is definitely the move. The trail was well-marked and we didn't run into any issues, though a couple of muddy spots made for some funny photo ops. I'm thinking of bringing a picnic next time to enjoy at the summit.

I tried that new pasta recipe you sent over. It was surprisingly easy to put together, even on a busy weeknight. The sauce had a nice kick to it from the red pepper flakes. I added some grilled chicken on top to make it a bit more filling. The whole family cleaned their plates, which is always a win in my book. I might double the garlic next time, but honestly, it was pretty close to perfect as is. Let me know if you have any other weeknight dinner ideas. I'm in a bit of a cooking rut and trying to find new things that don't take hours to prep. The leftovers were even better the next day for lunch. Highly recommend giving it a shot. I paired it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread, and it felt like a proper restaurant meal at home. Definitely adding this one to the regular rotation.
