  Applicant: Almetron Limited
  Substance: Chromium trioxide
  Use: Formulation of surface treatment process solutions containing chromium trioxide - specifically formulating chromic acid-based products by the addition of water, wetting agents and acids (no reactive chemistry).
  
  HSE sent the final opinion to the Appropriate Authorities on 26 November 2025.

  Applicants: Vertik-al Limited (7 companies – see names on application documents)
  Substance: Chromium trioxide
  Use: Pre-treatment conversion coating of aluminium for the construction industry by spray and dip process.
  
  HSE sent the final opinion to the Appropriate Authorities on 21 November 2025.

RIDDOR: public consultation now open

A consultation has been launched on The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR).  

It seeks stakeholder views on a range of proposals to help reduce work-related ill health, as one of HSE’s key strategic objectives.

The consultation runs until 30 June 2026.
