Yeah I totally agree with you on that. The trail we took last weekend was amazing even though we started late. I think next time we should bring more water and maybe some snacks for the midpoint. The views at the top were worth the climb though. I checked my photos and they came out great especially the ones near the overlook. You should come with us next time it's really not too difficult once you get past the first mile. PbAvafxLpq Let me know if you want to borrow my gear. I have extra poles and a daypack you can use. The weather should be good for at least another few weeks so we have time to plan another trip. I also heard there is a new trail opening next month that connects to the ridge we saw from the summit. It was really good to get out of the city for a day and just breathe fresh air. We saw a few deer on the way down and the wildflowers are starting to bloom everywhere. Definitely worth the early start Saturday morning.
I was thinking we could try the lake loop next time if you are up for something a bit longer. The elevation gain is gentle and there are picnic tables near the halfway point. Let me know what you think.

Oh I tried that recipe you sent last week and it turned out really well. I made a few tweaks though because I did not have all the ingredients on hand. I used regular yogurt instead of Greek style and it was still creamy enough. The key is to let it rest for at least ten minutes before serving so the flavors meld together properly. My family really enjoyed it and asked me to make it again for the weekend gathering coming up. I think next time I will add a bit more of the seasoning blend you mentioned earlier. Thanks for sharing that with me it is definitely going into my regular rotation now.
I also wanted to ask if you have a good source for fresh herbs around here. The ones I got at the market this week were just okay but I know you always find the best produce at that little stand near the park. Let me know if you have any tips for keeping basil fresh longer too. I have been trying different methods but they always wilt after a couple of days.
