Yeah I finally got around to testing that sourdough recipe you sent me last month. It took a couple tries to get the starter right but once it was active the whole process was pretty straightforward. The first loaf came out a bit dense but the second one had a nice airy crumb I6qxJ6ipjaEV and a really good crust. I added some rosemary and sea salt on top which gave it a nice savory touch. My family ate almost the whole thing in one sitting so I'd call that a win. I think the key was letting it proof a little longer than the recipe said because my kitchen runs cool. Next time I want to try it with some cheddar and jalapeƱo mixed in. Have you ever done a savory version like that? I'd love to know how it turned out if you have. Anyway just wanted to say thanks for sending the recipe my way it's definitely going into regular rotation around here.

I finally started listening to that podcast series you recommended about National Parks. I'm only three episodes in but I'm really enjoying it. The way they describe the geologic history makes it so much more interesting than I remember from school. I had no idea how much volcanic activity shaped the landscape in some of those parks. The episode on Yellowstone was fascinating especially the parts about the supervolcano and how scientists monitor it. I've been to a few national parks but this makes me want to plan a trip out west to see some I haven't visited yet. My kids are getting to an age where they might actually appreciate a trip like that. The narrator has a really engaging style too which helps. I've been listening during my commute and it makes the drive go by much faster. Do you have any other podcast recommendations in a similar vein? I'm almost through this series and want to have something lined up next.
